These boys have dreams. And rightfully so: they are extraordinarily talented. They play Pachelbel to Bach with ease, but their hearts go out to Vivaldi. In the townships of Africa they perform with pride because their music is meant for everyone.
The Houtbay Music Project exists since 2003 and has supported hundreds of children from impoverished communities. They teach to play the violin, cello, bass, but also practical knowledge that helps them further in life.
The documentary we made about The Houtbay Music Project was internationally recognised. The children were invited by Andre Rieu to perform at his international show.
With over 3 million viewers and an emotional response from the public, this was an appreciation they, and we, will never forget. These children are ambassadors for all children searching for a better future.
